TILE AND GROUT CLEANING PROCESS AND RESULTS
1.) A test clean should always be done first! If you are searching the phone book for estimates, and the company does not offer a "test clean", BEWARE. The key
word is offer . If they do not offer a test clean, their main concern is making money, and not results. Ask yourself, how can
they give an estimate when they do not know the tile's condition, or how well it will clean? RESULTS DO
VARY.
2.) My tile and grout cleaning process is similiar to my carpet cleaning process. A cleaner is first applied
to the tile and grout, then agitated by using a floor machine with a heavy grit brush and/or by hand. Much of the time I will
agitate by hand method. This is more labor intensive, but greatly reduces splashing by the floor machine. (Plain and
simple, it's less messy.)
3.) The cleaning process is then finished by steam cleaning with hard surface cleaning tools. Each
and every grout joint is cleaned with a high pressure, high heat single jet.
Warning: "Turbo" type cleaners that many companies use, the
jets spray in a circuliar motion and can cause "striping". These benefit only the cleaner, as they require less labor and
less time. I DO NOT SACRIFICE RESULTS FOR MY CONVIENENCE.
